Woke up with a migraine trying to take hold, but after a half hour with this beauty (with the windows cracked and the local classical station barely audible in the background), I’m feeling mighty fine.

I suffer from migraines occasionally, and I should check with my doctor to see if this is an approved medication.

Insurance - “Wut.”

I used to get them a lot in the past few months, but I figured out it was to do with heating overnight. I would sleep too long in a very dry room, and I would wake up with terrible migraines. Do they happen in the morning for you? If so, make some changes to your sleeping arrangements and see if that helps.

Nope, they’re stress-based for me. So I just need to work on mellowing out.

How far are you from Tennessee? We have a/the E90 M3, and E93 M3 confirmed for the Oppo meet. We need the E92 M3!

I survive on Excedrin migraine and caffeinated drinks. Actually, when you consider how much caffeine is in the Excedrin... man, I’m probably messing up my body. Ha!

I took an Excedrin with a bunch of water first thing as well. Too much caffeine is actually a migraine trigger for me. Not sure what triggered the one this morning.

That really sucks. I have no clue what triggers mine. Staring at PC screens all day probably doesn’t help though.

Yeah, it sucks for people passing through. All of our cars have Pikepasses, so I don’t even think about it.

I actually get headaches with no caffeine or too much caffeine, so I need to thread the needle daily.
Glad that the Excedrin and a strong dose of S65 noises got rid of the headache!

I have fun health issues of my own but fortunately not migranes. What a predicament. As a former student of psych tho this is fascinating, is endorphins/adrenaline a known fix or something? Also E90 is best E9X!

I did take an Excedrin as well, but the best medicine for me is usually a cool, silent, pitch black room. I didn’t drive especially hard this morning, but driving is often relaxing/meditative for me, and the white noise of the wind and the calming music all worked together to ease the pain/stress.
I think endorphins & adrenaline can give short relief from a migraine - I can power through if there’s something I really need to do - but it will still linger and be there on the other side.

It definitely can be. I’m having fewer now that I did for a stretch in the past - hopefully I can keep determining and eliminating my triggers to the point that I very rarely have to deal with it.

If you get a headache with no caffeine, that sounds very much like you’re addicted. =) I drink coffee in the winter, but try to almost completely wean myself off in the summer. I like to keep it at a point where it actually works when I need it to. It’s a strong drug!

Yes, over-stimulation (light, noise, etc.) is definitely a big one for me. I keep the brightness on my screens at work as low as I can.

Like I alluded to in an earlier response, make sure to find one with the cold weather package (with the fold-down rear seats).

I’m considering the f80 and the e90. I’ll drive both but the f80 seems more economical in terms of cost to maintain and fuel especially if I’m keeping it long term. We’ll see how they feel to drive though

Haven’t driven an F80 yet. Seems to me that they’re two very different cars!

Yeah that’s what I got too. It seems like the e90 is more of a high reving engine where you have to work for the maximum potential with a slightly notch shift feel. The f80 is apparently more of an instant gratification engine where you can punch it at 2000rpm and still get torque. The shift feel is supposed to be silky smooth on it.
I was watching Chris Harris and that genuine excitement is what convinced me to look at the f80 seriously. Of course I’ll never be half the driver he is but the drive feel seems tremendous.

Yeah, his stamp of approval is a big one for me, too. That said, the E90 dominated in comparisons in its day, and the F80 really hasn’t. I’m not sure if that’s because BMW lost a step or the others just really upped their game. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts after driving both. I’d drive an M2 while you’re at it.
